If you are among the thousands of Americans who suffer from back pain, you know what it is like to live in constant agony. You have to struggle and strain to do the simplest things like get out of bed or pick a napkin up of the floor. Constant back pain is a serious condition that affects millions of people and leaves them unable to enjoy everything that life has to offer.
There are several causes of back pain. These can range from injury to improper use. The more common causes of back pain are people who improperly lift in their younger days, suffering pain later in life. The other main cause is an injury associated with an auto accident.
Before the advancements in medicine, there were few ways to solve a person’s back pain except for the use of surgery. With advancements in the world of medicine, this is no longer the case. A person can have their back pain treated using a wide range of methods.
One of the most basic things that a person can do to help alleviate back pain is going to sound crazy, exercise your back. I know that when you are in pain the last thing that you want to do is move the part of your body that hurts, but in this case it’s the best medicine since the pain is being caused by the weakness of the back and the supporting structure of the spine. Strengthen those and the pain will be lessened.
Another way that a person can alleviate their pain is through the use of the ancient eastern medical practice of acupuncture. This technique helps to alleviate pain by channeling energy flows to the area that is affected and allowing the body to rebalance itself. The Chinese have used Acupuncture for centuries to control pain, and it has been proven to be very highly effective in the reliving of chronic back pain.
The most popular treatment option by far is the use of medicine to control your back pain. There are of course some major drawbacks to this, such as the expense, the side effects and the potential of becoming addicted. While this is a common and highly effective way to treat back pain it is many times not the best option for everyone.
Modern surgical techniques have increased the success rate of back pain surgery while reducing the risk and the recovery times. These techniques can be many time performed on an outpatient basis and you can be back to work in a limited fashion in as little as a few days. This is a very common method of controlling back pain when dealing with torn muscles or slipped discs.
The last and arguable the most effective form of safe and reliable back pain treatment is the use of a chiropractor. A chiropractor can use many different techniques to help alleviate your back pain often without the use of medicines or surgery. This is due to the fact that most back pain result from a misalignment of the back. A chiropractor can help realign your back and stop the pain.
Back pain does not have to rule a person’s life anymore; help is out there and can get the person back to living the life they love.
