Exceeds Anticipations – Business Forms Software Review

The reports seem a complicated, the menu seems to just be rearranged, seems to be very difficult to find what you’re looking for without going to help. I really hope quicken works on some new features soon, till then I’ll keep upgrading every three years.

I was unable to deal with my bank accounts or my credit card. Now I wouldn’t know anymore what charges or payments were posted to my credit card, what deposits or payments made by my bank account; I’d have to start writing checks manually and mailing them via USPS. The problem was never fixed. The last customer service upgraded me to Quicken 2011 for Free and to this day I still having difficulty downloading statements from my bank (almost on daily basis). I do like that everything is stored on one file now, but the new file is twice as big as the previous three. The program also seems a little more sluggish. This product is perfect for me and at a price I’m willing to pay for an electronic check book. I guess I’m fortunate that I did not have to call tech support but with the way tech support is handled at 99% of all companies, I know what to expect when I reach for the phone. One way overdue update is consolidating the save/backup file into a single file, vs 3 with 2008! The update did take a while; it immediately downloaded patches for the newer version, which seemed to take longer than I would’ve thought. I selected this version for a home based business. It is immediately able to load my banking accounts. I guess this means that after I do the updates I have to go to each of my bank sites and double check. I switch to Quicken Home and Business to replace Microsoft Money Small Business as it will no longer be supported. It also runs A LOT slower. With the discontinuing support of Microsoft Money my husband and I needed a new source for our home bookkeeping system.

Most recently I upgraded to Quicken 2011 Home and Business from Quicken Home and Business 2008. I then upgraded to Windows 7 and had to reinstall the product.

Regarding the business module, Quicken was not so good at importing my invoice history. For some reason, my paid invoices came in with a zero amount and the customer payments were missing their categorizations.

The two programs have a totally different look and flow to how information is entered and displayed. At first, of course everything looks confusing.

I have everything on 1 page to start with. I can switch from one account to the next with one click. I was so excited in fact, that I paid a premium to download rather than wait for UPS. In retrospect, I should have paid more attention to the eerie similarity between the reviews, and in fact they were all from beta testers (shills”) perhaps working off the same talking points. For some strange reason I don’t see any mention of this loss of functionality anywhere on the web. With MS Money out of the picture, I hope a reasonable competing product becomes available soon.

One feature that was pretty informative was the Cash Flow panel, which showed you how much you took in, how much you spent, and a bottom line for the month. TEC INFRARED GRILL.
